He has a background in both computer science and technical writing with many years experience in technical consulting, training, writing, and publishing about business intelligence tools and database technologies. He is a co-author of the Eclipse Series book, Integrating and Extending BIRT, published by Addison-Wesley. The book introduces programmers to BIRT architecture and the reporting framework. It is the second volume in a two-book series about business intelligence and reporting technology. %2 Actuate Jason Weathersby is the BIRT Evangelist at Actuate Corporation and a member of the Eclipse Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) Project Management Committee (PMC). Jason has over 15 years experience in the software development field, ranging from real time process control to business intelligence software. At Actuate, Jason is currently responsible for educating the Open Source community on BIRT and encouraging its adoption, and is responsible for managing the Eclipse BIRT newsgroup and website. Jason has co-authored two BIRT books and written many articles that discuss the BIRT technology.
